Eric,

Great to see you making comments on posts in our small corner of the world. I am honoured. :-)

The issue of complexity is a considerable one in the underdeveloped web analytics nations (non US, UK, CA). GA has (of course) become the default tool for everyone - with even large organisations using it exclusively. This lack of sophistication and maturity is obviously affecting our ability to evangalise the more complex areas of WA. In some ways this means that our job is to help the companies using GA to understand the reasons to upgrade (see my previous posts), as well as getting back to the basics (more on that in the future).

SESSIONS rule!

I agree with you about the complexity of the visitor engagement metric I have defined. I would humbly submit that I have described a vision that any web analytic application provider can duplicate if they so desire. Perhaps we're a year or two out from visitor engagement being a commonplace metric, but when it happens, remember where your first read about the vision ;-)

Thanks for your comments about my disagreement with Mr. Rubel. Long live SESSIONS!
